Exploring Cuenca

Since arriving in Cuenca we have been catching up on school work, and getting settled so we have only explored a little in the afternoon. but so far from what we have seen, Cuenca is a beautiful city. Ever since we started thinking about this trip Cuenca was in our radar, we have read that it is a safe, and beautiful city, and from the little bit of exploring we have done the rumors are true.

View of one of the domes of the New Cathedral of Cuenca

Cuenca has some of the most beautiful architecture I have seen in South America so far. Their historic center has a gorgeous Cathedral with what the internet calls a "Romanesques Revival" style. Here are a few pictures of our walks so far. I look forward to exploring this beautiful areas more in depth this weekend.

Wyatt, Maija and Terran in Plaza San Francisco

I think this the judicial court of Cuenca, but Maija thought it looked just like Gringotts from Harry Potter

Cuenca has so many river paths, can't wait to try a few out

I took this photo for my friend Eva who is a fan of this writer
Maija and Terran absolutely LOVE Parque de la Madre, it is this huge green space with a Zip line, play structures, and a planetarium (we have to check that out soon!). Although we have only been here for a few days, Parque de la Madre is becoming a daily stop.

  3. You are so lucky Maija! While I am suffering with school work, you got the closest you will ever be to seeing Gringotts. Boo hoo. Sad face.
