Dear Grade 6 Clases
Dear Class,
I am in Cusco right now. I am safe and happy.
Cusco is under Machu Picchu. |
There are SO many dogs in Cusco. Most of them have green collars, which means they have had their rabies shot. So if I get bit by one with a green collar, I will not need 2 extra shots.
Since I last saw you guys, I slept through a 4.0 earthquake centered between Cusco and Machu Picchu. I missed a flight, got sent to Huston, stayed overnight in a hotel, arrived in Lima a day late and took a 1 hour flight to Cusco, got sick in a market and saw 2 Alpacas and a Llama. A dog with no collar barked at us for a bit, so that scared us!
On November 14th, we went to "Choco Museo". There may or may not have been a chocolate Machu Picchu.
- Chincharo: Inca foundations used to build Spanish cathedrals.
- The Weaving Center: We saw how to weave. The person directing was very funny. Don't worry, they don't eat the guinea pigs.
- Moray: This was very cool. It was everything that I hoped for, and I hoped for a lot.
- Maraz Salt Mine: It was a spring of salt water coming from the mountains and going into pools in the valley. They evaporate into pure salt.
- Inca's House: Buffet style lunch.
- Ollantaytambo Temple Of The Sun: It was a bit of a climb to get to the top, but it was a really good view. In the courtyard at the end, we saw 2 Alpacas.
- Pisac: Inca ruins kind of like Machu Picchu. There was a Manco Capac at the top. We took a picture with him.
- Silversmith in Pisac district: We learned the difference between real and fake silver. After, on the same street, we saw 2 Alpacas and 2 Lambs. Of course, we took a picture.
- Home: We slept well, we woke up at 5:00 am in the morning.😴😴😴😴
You spoke very eloquently about your adventures, Maija. I bet your class was thrilled to hear and see all that you have been doing. Love you!
