The Museum of Natural History

Today we visited the Museum of Natural History. We took the number 1 subway again, and were ready for a good day of walking. Museums in New York are so massive, but the cool thing about this one is that is it is on a "Pay what you Like" system, which works out great when you are a family. The Museum has so many cool exhibits, here is a small snapshot of what we saw.

Walking towards the museum in the Upper West Side
Maija and Terran outside the Museum of Natural History. It was a pretty rainy day.

Maija by the Big Tree or Giant Sequoia. Maija is studying trees in school. This section contains 1342 rings, and it started growing 500 AD

This is the largest meteorite in a museum, and the third largest in the world. Terran spent around 45 minutes checking out this meteorite.

A classmate of Maija's asked her to take a photo of a spider, here is a large Japanese Spider Crab. This one is for you Sean
We left the museum at lunch time in search of food, and decided to walk by the LDS Manhattan Temple. Unfortunately since it was on a Monday it was closed.
We saw this cool painting in the Museum of American Folk Art. This museum is always free, and it is next door to the LDS Manhattan temple.

Learning about the Curiosity Rover in the Earth and Space exhibit.

The Museum of Natural History had so much to offer, but we did not take as many pictures since many of the exhibit rooms were very dark. We ended up staying late in the city, and decided to walk back to Time Square and see it at night. On our way there Maija saw the theater that is currently playing Harry Potter and the Curse Child. We tried getting tickets for this play, but it is still a little too popular.

    1. The lady at the Theater told us to wait a few years, then it’ll be like phantom.
